welcome to abovetowne.
My name is Molly Lackey, and abovetowne is the little online garden of things I love.
What’s in a name? Well, for this blog, it’s the etymology of my maiden name—Buffington, a syncopated version of “above town,” the geographic area in Cornwall where my family origins lie. I always have liked the way it sounded: a peaceful, quiet place, removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life without losing sight of it. A restful pause. And that’s what this blog is all about.
Like I said above, I’m Molly Lackey. I am a Christian (Lutheran, to be specific) and am married to a seminarian. I have a Master of Arts in Early Modern European History and a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, German, and Latin. I love to read, write, draw, and craft. My long term goals are to better utilize my gifts to improve the lives of others and to embrace the lifestyle of a “country gentlewoman” with a library and a sheep or two. I listen to music and audiobooks constantly, cry often, and laugh oftener. I am always striving to love the spot God has placed me in more and more.
